Walking in the Colne Valley

Walking BootsThe Colne Valley is a fantastic area to explore on foot. With its undulating countryside, historic villages and the winding River Colne its a pleasure to explore.

It was because of the enjoyment I get from walking around here that I decided to build this website and share it with you.

All these walks are in the Colne Valley and vary from 3 miles for the Sunday stroller,and up to 12 miles for the more enthusiastic.

Colne Valley Path

The River Colne Countryside Project opened the Colne Valley Path in May 2006. The Colne Valley Path will link Great Yeldham to Colchester. The route allows walkers to enjoy the delights of the Colne Valley from the rivers edge to high on the valley side that opens up long views of this wonderful valley. Read more...
